Citrus High School Jazz Band

Jazz studies are an integral part of the Citrus High School Band Program. Our jazz ensemble is dedicated to performing the finest of jazz literature from past standards to contemporary works. The band also regularly performs music outside of the jazz style, such as “Funk” and “Rock”. The group has an active performance schedule from playing at various school functions and community events, to formal concerts and contests.

This ensemble will be an advanced level group allowing our students to experience more challenging literature. Due to the nature of the Jazz Ensemble, this group is 100% audition based. Students that are able to sign up for the 1st Block Jazz Band class in the fall will get priority membership.

We perform a lot of music, and our repertoire will keep getting bigger and better. Students are expected to practice hard and often to be able to keep up in this ensemble!!
